Dear Pastrami Lovers,
It's about holiday time again and closing in on the end of another year. A fast one, as usual. But it brought some bright spots for Kenny and Zuke's, and some good things to come. Like our 3rd Anniversary that our customers and fans helped us celebrate with a special $3.00 menu of favorites. And fans of Sandwichworks seem to adore our new milkshake machine blending their favorite flavors of Cool Moon Ice Cream into frothy richness. And my favorite holiday - a uniquely American one that captures terrific flavors made all the more special by their once-yearly appearance - is soon upon us, and with it our Thanksgiving take-out menu.
And if you thought our pastrami was great, wait 'til you taste our new and improved version! Starting Monday, Nov. 1, we'll once again be brining our Pastrami in-house (we've always smoked and steamed it). We've spent months testing, tasting, planning, and adding the proper equipment. We've slightly tweaked the cut of the beef, and the content of the brine. The result? Pastrami that is a bit sweeter, a bit less salty, somewhat moister, more full-flavored, and all-in-all more consistant. We thing when all is said and done you'll find it a big improvement over something that most thought didn't even need improving. Please let us know what you think.
Lastly, There are still a few seats left for the class I'm teaching on Wednesday, Nov. 3 at In Good Taste Cooking School. The class is called Thanksgiving Dinner for Two, and we'll show you empty-nesters or GenX'ers that you can still enjoy your own feast, even if it's just the two of you. Holiday Hours
Both the Deli and Sandwichworks will be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Days. On Christmas Eve, the Deli will be open regular hours (until 9) and Sandwichworks will close early, at 5:00. On New Year's Eve, the Deli will stay open until 11 P.M., and Sandwichworks will close at 8. And on New Year's Day, both places will be open regular hours.
